BOOK APPOINTMENT BACK TO TEAM Chris Jacob B.App.Sci (Physio) PHYSIOTHERAPIST ABN 61 261 312 601 Interests Post-operative management, tendon pathology, hand therapy including splint fabrication, strength and resistance training, gait assessment, chronic pain Bio Chris Jacob studied Applied Science Physical Education at RMIT in 2001 and completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2007 at Latrobe University. He is currently studying a Masters degree in Sports Physiotherapy. Since graduating, Chris has worked in private practice for 14 years and continues work with the Mansfield Eagles Football Club as head Physiotherapist. He has worked extensively with local sporting clubs including the Glen Waverley Rovers Junior Football Club, Eltham Collegians and East Burwood Football Club. Chris enjoys working in the Mansfield region and at Geelong Grammar School Timbertop campus. This role involves the assessment and diagnosis of acute sporting injuries, working closely with local GP’s and Sports Physicians. Chris enjoys working with all types of people, from elite athletes, to weekend warriors and those suffering chronic pain. Using evidence-based practice and adopting current assessment techniques, he strives to provide accurate diagnoses. Once this is achieved, Chris provides correct intervention with solid home therapy programs. This enables those struggling with frustrating and debilitating injuries to regain function and reduce pain. Chris’ close interests include post-operative management, diagnosis and treatment of tendon pathology, hand therapy (including splint fabrication), strength and resistance training programs, functional gait and running gait assessment, management of chronic pain through exercise prescription. Chris enjoys maintaining his own fitness and spending time with his four young children.
