As Winter comes to an end, Spring is a great time to check in on your health and make a few simple changes. After a colder, quieter Winter, many of us are ready to get outdoors again. Gradually increasing your activity through walking, gardening, cycling or other activities can help improve fitness, energy and mood.
Spring is also a good reminder to review your general health. Are your medications still appropriate or dos your prescription need to be renewed? Are your vaccinations and routine health checks up to date? Have you been putting off a health concern that hasn't gone away? Don't ignore ongoing symptoms such as persistent coughs, unexplained fatigue, changes in sleep or mood, or aches and pains that aren't improving. A consultation with a GP can help identify any issues early and provide reassurance or appropriate treatment.
With the warmer weather approaching, it's also worth thinking about sun protection, staying hydrated and taking sensible precautions when returning to outdoor activities. A little attention to your health now can help you enjoy everything Spring in the High Country has to offer.
