Dr Jose Penate is an experienced medical practitioner, who is gentle and compassionate, aiming to deliver the best healthcare possible to patients in all age groups.

Jose was born in Guatemala, where he trained and practiced as Medical Doctor, then moved to Australia to pursue his Aussie dream. Jose has extensive Australian and overseas experience.

He first joined Mansfield Medical Clinic in 2019, after working in multiple hospitals and emergency departments across Melbourne, including Ballarat Health Services, The Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear hospital, amongst others.

Jose enjoys rural general practice and likes engaging with his patients to create long term relationships. His areas of interest include Emergency Medicine, ENT/Ophthalmology, Musculoskeletal Medicine, Phlebology and Ultrasound.

In his spare time, Jose loves cycling, travelling, coffee, and spending quality time with his family and little dog 'Milo'.
