Bio
I completed my medical training in the UK, followed by work for some years in rural Northern England. I have been privileged to have had opportunity to practice in a number of different parts of the world, spending time in Nepal, Bangladesh and Eastern Africa, before a planned year of practising in Australia suddenly turned into a one way trip and a permanent move! Here in Australia, I've spent time in Canberra, South Australia and Far Northern Queensland including the Torres strait, combining work with a keen interest in outdoor sports and travel.
My area of specialised training is in mental health, particularly all aspects of adult psychiatry, perinatal mental health and more recently Neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD in both adults and children.
Being a sports fanatic, I have an interest in sports injuries and trauma and also enjoy my work in Emergency at the hospital here in town, which often involves the occasional sporting mishap.
When not at work, you`ll find me outside on a bike, on skis, in water or walking uphill somewhere. I have a pair of silly sheepadoodles (Old English Sheepdog x poodles) that also keep me busy plus a few chickens, and my Partner has convinced me that all we are missing is two miniature highland calves and a horse which are soon to arrive.
